Explanation of format options for round 2: Winner’s Choice
Santa’s Doubles is a Christmas themed tournament that dates back in various formats to 2004. A Christmas gift exchange is traditionally part of the festivities. The current format involves one round of best shot doubles and a second round called “winner’s choice” in which the team with the best round one score chooses the doubles format played by their division in round 2.
2013 – Format changed to one round of best shot doubles and one round of “winner’s choice”
2012 – Format changed to two rounds of Scotch doubles
2011 – Back to Dragan Field where it belongs
2010 – Yet another new venue. Results lost to the wind.
2009 – Same venue as previous year. Results lost to the wind.
2008 – Same venue as previous year
2007 – Moved from Dragan Field to new course and renamed Santa’s Doubles
2006 – Format changed to two rounds of best shot doubles
2005 – Same format as previous year
2004 – Two-person teams playing one round of singles and one round of doubles and combining all three scores.
